WANDA AZZARIO-GOLDBERG - ART BY WAG

Wanda Azzario-Goldberg is this year’s Festival Poster Contest winner, with her lovely and colorfully bold pelican painting ‘Fly, Pelican, FLY!’ which she created using the digital paint brush and canvas. Wanda’s artwork is based on her life’s experiences, including the life-changing decision to literally run away to the circus! For 35 years, surrounded by the bright lights and shiny costumes, Wanda performed as an acrobat. Having accomplished much in her line of work, working on all the best shows around the globe and even performing for the Queen of England, eventually it was time for retirement.

Before becoming a performer, Wanda studied art at the Central St Martins College of Art. Her love for art and skill for sketching was noticed by her Mother and Father-in-law, who surprised her with her first Wacom tablet and an Apple Mac computer. Four years of exploring and learning these new tools, she creates detailed, beautiful and colorful digital paintings of her life experiences, from the circus to a beautiful sunny day at the beach. Wanda currently lives on a boat in Oahu, HI with her husband Alan (an ex-lion and tiger trainer!) and their dog Sydney.

Wanda will be joining us all the way from Hawaii, so you can find her and all of her beautiful work in booth #2.

The Gulf Breeze Celebrates the Arts Festival is a juried fine art festival, inviting and hosting quality artists from all over the country. Artists are invited to apply both online and through mail-in applications, providing high resolution photographs of their artwork and festival displays, as well as summarizations of working processes for our jury. Our jurying process consists of three jurors blindly scoring our artists on their quality, style, presentation of work, and consistency in work. The jurors we choose are chosen based on their expertise in their artistic field and have experience in fine art, commercial art and arts education. We strive to have jurors and judges with extended experience within the art world in order to have the best quality artwork for our event.
